If you don't ever plan to sell her then it would be okay to cut her bangs. I would never buy a doll with cut hair unless I planned to rewig her. So for some it does diminish the resale value of the doll.

I rewigged a Molly (my Dorothy) with a very similar wig. I've had such a hard time getting her bangs even. I'm afriad to keep trying for fear they willend up too short. I haven't really noticed DD's Molly having long bangs. My Kirsten's are fine. Good luck with your decision.

Ya'll will think I'm crazy but, if I was going to do it I'd take her to a hair stylest to have it done. They cut wigs all the time!!! I wouldn't trust myself to get it straight!

I think the long bangs can be kinda cute! The only dolls I have seen with cut bangs to me look ruined. So I would never try to do it. But in the end it is your descision!

Good suggestion about taking her to a hair stylist.
My Molly's bangs are a little long but I just brush them slightly to the sides.
I have seen some dolls with their bangs cut on ebay and they look a bit strange.

I personally am a reformed doll wig cutter. Cutting wigs is so difficult (I've cut a few), because nothing will grow back. It's so easy to botch it up. If you make a mistake--eek--it won't grow back, unlike the bad bang haircut Mom gave all of us growing up. Cut wigs also tend to look too blunt and unnatural, even if you cut little pieces at a time.

I also usually just brush Molly's bangs a bit to the side since my doll also has too-long bangs. Her glasses can help keep them out of her eyes, too.

I've cut doll wigs before (AG, ones even). It took a few different trimmings to get it straight, which of course leads it to being shorter than you originally intended. I cut Misty (in my avatar, non AG wig)'s bangs and although it was the perfect length and perfectly straight, I didn't care for the look, and bought her the same wig all over again. It would be much harder to do that with an AG wig, especially if the doll is PM.

If you look at the catalogue pictures (especially the old ones), they do brush the bangs up and to the sides, I think the way some people here explained:
Kirsten333 Molly333 Sam333

I imagine they do that because the bangs were so long and thick. My banged dolls always have their bangs like this, I think of it as the way AG/PC *wanted* the bangs to look. I've had people say they look wind-blown, but I think it works quite well for making the bangs look thinner and shorter.

Yes! I've done it! My Molly had super long bangs too and they were always getting in her eyeys or covering up part of her glasses. Finally I just decided to give her a small trim, and it worked! I only took a tiny bit off, and did it slowly. They are still long, but don't cover her poor eyes.

My Molly has such long bang that are always in her eyes unless I brush them sideways with some water, I was just wondering if anyone has ever given them a trim?

Thanks

I haven't because our Molly is a white-bodied Molly and everytime I go to cut them my husband tells me I am ruining her But believe me, I have been tempted....sorely tempted many times. Her bangs are so long it prevents her eyes from opening sometimes. I have tried to give her bangs some lift by keeping them under a hat for a while, but they still fall down.
